Expo Hakel

About this activity

This fossil museum is the first museum of its kind in Lebanon that was established in 1991 by Rezkallah Nohra who started his ambition by collecting these fossils as a young kid in Hakel village near Jbeil. Live the journey through time while observing the fossils which are all extracted from Lebanon and date back to 98 million years!

Notes

The Fossil Excavation experience is available for whoever is interested where they take you and provide you with the tools and you can keep the fossil you extracted as a souvenir!
More than 350 kinds of fish species and invertebrates are displayed in the museum while most of which are extant

Tips 

Several things to be done  in addition to fossil excavation, like a 30-minute hiking and having an organic homemade meal
A gift shop available with a wide selection of fossils for sale
