This palace goes back in time to the year 1721! It was for the Hammoud family, a family of Ottoman aghas of Maghreb origin. In 1800 a man called Youssef Debbane bought the place from the Hammouds and that’s where the palace gained its name. Now it’s open and an attraction for history and architecture lovers to observe. Its architecture is an Ottoman one with Salamlik and Haramlik sections and the vintage furniture and all accessories are still in the palace and well-preserved. The walls consist of multicolored mosaics and the high ceiling is with a wooden arabesque design. Now it’s run by the Debbane Foundation which aims to preserve this historical palace and turn it into a museum. More Info
