The beautiful village of Kfarmatta, located in the District of Aley, famous for its pines and olive groves, was named by the Syriac Aramaic compound of “Kufr ” in the sense of a “village”, becoming “village of Matthew” or the village of the Man of God. Also, the village is known for its beautiful greenery mountain views that can be seen wherever you stand in the village and its many pools and chalets available for rent in it. These ruins of an old silk factory is a historical location in Kfarmatta built in 1860. It was one of the first mills to be constructed in Lebanon and one of the largest. Located just off the main road, it sits on a 36,000 sq meter plot of land, offering views of the surrounding hills and valleys. It’s a great reminder of Lebanon’s once-thriving silk industry and it offers a glimpse into Lebanon’s architectural and economic history
A really nice traditional restaurant in Kfarmatta overlooking a beautiful view of green mountains. They serve Lebanese authentic food all year long where you can enjoy their delicious plates on the terrace in summer and beside the fire indoors in winter. They have argileh too.
Al Adham Equestrian is a great club for horseback riding for all interested in practicing this sport. The club participates in International competitions and has scored several wins. But it also offers simple, easy horseback rides in nature for those wishing to experience the peaceful thrill.
