The summit of Mount Hermon has great significance for many reasons; It is mentioned at least 13 times in the bible, it sits on the border between Lebanon Syria, and the occupied territories, and it is home to the highest UN post in the world.  To top is off, the summit of Mount Hermon can be seen from almost every point in the Beqaa valley. You can hike to the summit of Mount Hermon in August, September, and October starting in Rachaya next to the citadel and working your way up. The municipality of Rachaya also organizes an annual hike to the top.  If you want to complete this trial alone, or with a group of friend you will need permission.
